Before Contrac's intervention, the William Lamb Group IT network had not been updated for approximately 10 years. The legacy infrastructure relied on daisy-chained switches across various locations, which offered zero redundancy and poor reliability.

Wi-Fi coverage was restricted to the main building, leaving loading areas and car parks with no connectivity. Furthermore, perimeter security was effectively non-existent, and the IT team lacked the centralised management tools required to monitor such a sprawling, global production network.
